Growing Food in the Mountains Doesn't Have to be Hard

Most gardening advice wasn’t made for places like ours. Short seasons, unpredictable frosts, and rocky ground make it feel impossible to grow your own food.

You try what works for warmer climates, but nothing thrives.

Here’s the truth: You don’t need a greenhouse, endless free time, or a degree in soil science to grow fresh food at home.

You just need the right approach- one that works where you live.

That’s exactly what I help you do.

Hey, I’m Rosie

I live and grow food in the Southern Lakes region of New Zealand, where we face short seasons, shady sites, frost any month of the year, and a sun that feels like it never gets high in the sky.

I’ve been through the frustration of planting the “right” crops at the “right” time—only to have them fail again and again.

That’s why I started Harvest Envy: to give people growing in cool-latitude, high-altitude conditions the real, uniquely specific help they actually need.
